About the Event

It's 5:00 on a Friday afternoon and you have plans. Your manager requested a team meeting, as there is an urgent project that requires the team to work a majority of the weekend. Everyone else on the team agreed to stay and you need to let your manager know you cannot. How should you say "no" while not coming off as a non-team player?

Saying "no" diplomatically and at the right time is a necessary skill to achieve work/life balance while excelling in the workplace. Join VPG in this virtual water cooler chat with Trish Alatorre-Ridings, Senior Director for Trustpoint.One. For over 20 years, Trish has helped clients with direct hire and temporary staffing solutions, as well as eDiscovery, Translations, and Court Reporting. She will chat with us and present an interactive session on “How to Say "No" Effectively” in the workplace. We will learn about creating healthy work/life boundaries by saying “no” and some alternative suggestions. Trish will also discuss those awkward situations where you must say “no” to colleagues and managers. When more is asked of you than can actually be accomplished, it can feel as though you are letting people down. Trish will offer some thoughts on ways to handle these situations and reinforce the benefits of doing so.
