Eli: RLLB was a very enjoyable experience for me. This event became possible primarily because of Ashley’s amazing skills in collaboration, and she was able to orchestrate this informal panel with ADAPT.legal. This was an extraordinary opportunity for someone at our level. I was able to form many connections and attend panels that taught me a lot about the future of legal. For our panel, there was a good amount of planning and preparation to provide the best questions and information to the guests. While we thought several questions for our panelists would work well, when the time came, fewer people attended than we initially thought. Roshan had a great idea to make the panel more relatable and turn it into a roundtable discussion. The conversation that followed was quite insightful, as attendees offered their opinions about the changing field of law and how tech is impacting it. I learned that even when plans change unexpectedly, it can open the door to new opportunities and outcomes we never would have imagined.

Flexibility can actually become a source of creativity and growth. Another great part of the experience was doing a video recording with Ashley’s faith in me and Ethan. We had to find an innovative way to record her live podcast with only two phones, but thanks to some handy tripods, we were able to set up a makeshift stand that recorded very well! This taught me another valuable lesson: sometimes life throws you unexpected challenges, but you need to adapt as best you can.

Ethan: Going into RLLB, I was not sure what to expect, but it ended up being an amazing experience. I had never been to a professional conference like this before, and it was well organized. Being on my first panel was a great mentoring moment where we were able to learn from experienced panelists and other people looking to merge law and tech. Not only did I have the opportunity to be on a panel, but I also got to meet our fellow panelists, Roshan Mansinghani and Wade Yamazaki, as well as other legal professionals like Shirley Fung and our exceptional boss, Ashley Cheung. The venue was awesome, and the panels were very informative. I learned a great deal from the panels, such as the future of AI and how to be successful in operations. I would definitely go again. It was a privilege to be a video engineer for Ashley’s LIVE podcast “Clarity in Chaos”. I enjoyed setting up the cameras and being able to assist! As an added bonus, the food in Vegas was also very yummy!
