What if a little curiosity could unlock something you didn't even know you were building toward? That's essentially what happened when I decided to stop hiding behind a microphone in my home office and take Virtual Water Cooler Chat (VWCC) out into the wild. In 2025, I started experimenting with in-person podcast recordings—partly to grow the show, partly to push myself to show up with more confidence and presence. What followed was a whirlwind series at Venture X Ashburn, a trip to Las Vegas, recordings at Reston Station, and even a remote interview with a virtual shark tank as my backdrop. Each experiment taught me something new, and together they cracked open a door I didn't even know was there—the launch of Urban Raccoons Creative Hub (URCH), the social media arm of Virtual Patent Gateway, LLC.

Working with the talented creatives on the VPG team made me realize that URCH could help meet unmet needs in the IP community—especially for nonprofits and small-to-medium firms facing budget and resource challenges. The idea resonated with my colleagues as well as other creatives I consulted. The questions that remain—what to focus on and who our audience will be—are evolving, and we're refining how to communicate our mission. My primary business remains patent filing for practitioners; that's still my bread and butter, so balancing client demands with increased travel is challenging but worthwhile, as we are making an impact in much-needed ways.

In early December 2025, I received an unexpected email from Lindsay Ridnenour, the Community Manager at Venture X Brambleton. We met onsite, connected immediately, and discussed vision, budget, and dreams—including a podcast studio for URCH. Lindsay showed me that the dream was achievable. Since then, we've produced both remote and in-person recordings, using everything from ring lights and phones to full studio setups. In February 2026, we recorded our first URCH episode with Helen Wan, the author of the Netflix Series, The Partner Track.

As a thank-you, we recently produced a special interview with Lindsay, with production support from the talented Gezelin Cantuba, Brenna Holland, Alyssa Gangaram, and the VPG team. I'm grateful to everyone who believes in this vision.
